Welcome.

The William Lawson, Jr., Mid-Season Classic is preparing for another successful run as the most exciting one–day basketball invitational in the state of Virginia.  In its inaugural year the William Lawson, Jr., Mid-Season Classic drew a sell-out crowd and unfortunately hundreds of sports fans were turned away at the door because of fire regulations.  The William Lawson, Jr., Mid-Season Classic was attended by professional athletes, political dignitaries, and national recording artists. The William Lawson, Jr., Classic is the only mid-season basketball invitational in the Central Virginia area where fans can root for their favorite team making the Classic a must see-event during the MLK Holiday weekend.   The 2010 lineup includes ten of the most respected athletic programs in the Mid-Atlantic Region.  Nine of the ten teams playing in this year’s classic participated in their respective regional or state tournaments over the last two years.    Annually, the Classic strives to offer fans an exciting brand of quality basketball.   With the overwhelming success of the 2009 Classic, the 2010 William Lawson, Jr. Mid-Season Classic is expected to be bigger and better.
